Convention 2012

Convention: Check-In Day

This year marks my 7th convention and while I have always stayed at a nearby hotel (Marriott, Radisson, Hilton or Little America) this year I choose to stay at The Plaza Hotel.  It is located on the north end of the Convention center and they offer free airport shuttle and in-room internet connection.  Here is a look at the new City Creek Center Mall from our window.

I had THE best roommates for the 2012 Stampin’ Up! convention.  Hey, Cindy and Dawn!  (Two of the sweetest people I know).  We had a great time enjoying the convention together.  These were the gifts I received from them – each of them gave me a notepad (love them!) Aren’t they just beautiful?

The theme for this year’s Stampin’ Up! Convention was “I am…”
And I have come home with many “I ams”.  I am inspired, re-fuelled, re-energized, and invigorated; I am also a wee bit tired! Sleeping is never high on the priority list at Convention!

We arrived at the convention center about 4:00 pm and picked up our convention bags.  I love the large print pattern and how it has an adjustable handle so it can go over my shoulder sling back style.  Inside was the Convention booklet, some pins, a great pen and my stamp sets for make n’takes.

After getting our bags, I met my adopted group the WooHoo Stampers led by Michelle Halleen in the lobby of the Marriott to do a group swap and take this years group photo.  We had demonstrators spread across the country – California, New York, Idaho, Indiana, Ohio, South Dakota, Florida and Canada.

Then we headed over to the Gathering Place. They had Product Showcases all set up and it was very inspiring to see the catalog samples up close and personal (yes, close enough to touch, but my mom taught be better than to actually touch and feel)!
