I have been waiting to share this news with all of you and the wait is finally over! Last fall, Lauren submitted an application for The 2015 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program that recognizes middle level and high school students for volunteer work in their communities, with a chance to win $1,000 and a trip to Washington, DC. Unfortunately, she was not one of the students selected. However, she was awarded with The President’s Volunteer Service Award. When the large envelope arrived with her name on it, she had no idea what it is! It was a total shock to me as well!
We placed the award pin on her Girl Scout vest! Wow, what an accomplishment and honor!
