Happy Friday everyone! Before I begin with my recap of last week’s Stampin’ Up! event, I would like to take a moment and thank my wonderful blog followers for their kind emails that they sent me last week following my post last Friday. It truly means the world to me to have you in my life and I while I craft for my own sanity, I keep this blog for all of you. Ready to hear about last weekend’s First ever OnStage event?
This last weekend was the very first global OnStage event. They were held across the world – USA, Brussels, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. I attended the local event near me (San Diego, CA). I worked a half day and then headed to San Diego. The traffic was terrible, if you have driven in Los Angeles, you know what I am talking about! I did stop along the way (south of Camp Pendleton – Marine Corp Base Camp) and took these photos. I did take a selfie to send to my hubby and daughter but since I suck at taking them, I am choosing not to share that one! : ) Do you know the trick to take those? If you do, please share!
Can you believe these tables? Love that purple, okay this picture really does not do it justice!! Do you see the sequins scattered all over the tables?? It looked even more magical in person.
Take a close look at the photo below. Do you recognize something in the background? If you know what it is, please leave me a comment and I will send to you one of my make and takes from the event.
I had an absolute pleasure to spend the day with my side-line in the Team Stamp Group, under Tami White. Bonnie is from Fresno and drove down with her husband, I won’t complain about my terrible traffic commute south considering how far they drove!
There was a fun area with a backdrop and signs to have your pictures taken, so here we are, the official event photo!
There were some recognition’s during the day for milestones, sales, incentive trip earners, etc. I was shocked to see my name on the screen for the 10-year anniversary as I walked across stage at this past summer’s Convention in Salt Lake City. So what the heck, right? I walked again! There were 10 of us that were in San Diego who reached this milestone. WooHoo!!
One of my favorite moments of the day is when they showed a video-fed of Rich Jutkins from the OnStage Live event which was held in Brussels stamping! Yes, men do stamp!
Here is the card that he stamped. It is a hostess set called Love You Sew, which will be offered in the upcoming Occasions Catalog (January 5-May 31, 2016).
Then, he explained that the first time he made the card he wasn’t paying attention while he had a pair of scissors in his hand and this was the result. I think it is perfect, especially for this stamp set/card, wouldn’t you agree?
This is how prize patrol works. Usually after each presentation the staff member on stage will announce that it is time for everyone favorite part. I mean who doesn’t like free stuff, right! There is a drum roll and then they show what the winner will receive. After some hype, they finally announce what color is the winner. It is fun to see everyone’s excitement when this happen, even more so when it is an all-attendee giveaway!
Here was my color pin that won! Yea me!!
Everyone in attendance went home with two free stamp sets from the new catalog as well as a pack of specialty DSP. But, there were also Prize Patrols! We received one of 8 different color pins. If they called our color, we won. I think I counted that only 6 or 7 of the colors were called. But, I’m thrilled that every single person sitting at my table won a Prize Patrol – which meant we all went home with three brand new stamp sets! I even won a prize from the You Crew for knowing some Stampin’ Up! trivia!
Here’s a photo of all of the loot we received: Canvas Tote Bag, Gold Water Bottle, Occasions Catalog, Sale-a-Bration Catalog, Stampin’ Success (an amazing demonstrator-only magazine), journal, Stampin’ Up! pens, three stamp sets, specialty DSP, and 4 Make & Takes featuring products from four of the new product suites.
I will leave you with a funny story. I pulled out of the convention center to get onto the freeway to head home and wouldn’t you know it, I turned right instead of left and ran into a ton of people! I was perfectly safe taking this photo as I was stopped in bumper to bumper traffic through the Gas-lamp District.
Have a great Friday everyone!
