Christmas in July – Team Stamp It Blog Hop

header

Hello there and welcome back for the Stamp It Group’s blog hop ~ Christmas in July!

I’m going confess that although I bought the Reason for the Season Stamp Set and Festive Flower Builder Punch when the 2015 Holiday Catalog was first released as a bundled item, this is the first time I’ve used it.  I have no idea why, but I’m so glad that I finally got around to it.  I absolutely love it!  I had so much fun making this Poinsettia Christmas card that I also made one to be the focal point of a little treat box and the results are stunning.

Since the poinsettia is a traditional symbol of Christmas and the Reason for the Season Stamp Set also has a very traditional “feel” to it, my idea was to stay true to that style.

124

120

I finished off the inside of the card with a  stamped poinsettia.

121

123

122

The DSP belly band on the Clear Tiny Box measures 1″ x 9″.

This stamp set works with the the Festive Flower Builder Punch.  Since the punch is a builder punch, some times it can be challenging to use a punch like that.  Here are some step by step photos of how to put one together.

Begin by stamping Cherry Cobbler ink onto Cherry Cobbler cardstock for 8 of the large petals, 4 medium, and 2 double petals.  Then use Garden Green ink onto Garden Green cardstock for 3 of the large petals.  To add some dimension to the petals, hold in half and then unfold to build your poinsettia’s.

108

I found it helpful to adhere the petals to a “base” and used a 1″ Circle Punch and added some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center.

109

You will begin building the 8 petals first by laying them across from each other as seen in the photo below.  Then add more Multipurpose Liquid Glue for the next layer.

110

111

For this layer, you will off center the petals as seen in the photo below.  Set aside for now.

113

Again, I used a 1″ Circle Punch as my base and following the same steps as above for the 4 medium petals.

114

Add some Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the center of the petals so you can adhere the 2 double petals.

115

116

Now take the 8 petal piece that you set aside earlier and add more Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the smaller petal base.  Please note that, I used a Stampin’ Dimensional in this step for my poinsettia on the card to give more dimension.

117

118

Flip the poinsettia over and add a dab of Multipurpose Liquid Glue where you want to place the leaves.

119

To finish off your poinsettia’s, add either some pearls or the Crushed Curry cardstock “center’s” like I did on mine.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will continue the rest of the way around our hop!

Birthday Fiesta – Team Stamp It Blog Hop

header

Hello there and welcome back for the Stamp It Group’s blog hop ~ New Catalog Theme!

Today I’m sharing the bright and playful Festive Birthday Product Suite from the new annual catalog.  I love all of the images in this stamp set and the Designer Series Paper is fabulous as well.  This stamp set and coordinating Framelits can be used for any occasion from a fiesta, Cinco de Mayo, Diez y Seis, or any other celebration.   I choose this piece of DSP because it reminded me of a classic Mexican Serape (blanket).  I also stamped on a small piece of the same DSP and cut out the blanket and pieced it by adhering to the Crumb Cake Llama.  You can save 10% on the Birthday Fiesta Stamp Set and Fiesta Time Framelits when purchased together, like I did!

089

Since I used Melon Mambo cardstock and ink, so I decided to make my Llama a girl by adding a flower!  Adorable, right?  Here’s a tip for adhering the small flower, and I mean it is small.  Once you die cut the small flower, take either your Bone Folder or the tip of the Paper Snips and carefully fold a Mini Glue Dot in half and half again, while keeping it on the spool.  This will give some dimension as well as adhering it where you want it.

090

I wanted to stamp in the inside of the card and I created a traditional Mexican papel picado.  The banner reminds me of the 2012 Leadership conference that I attended in San Antonio, TX!

Father’s Day – Team Stamp It Blog Hop

Hello there and welcome back for the Stamp It Group’s blog hop ~ Father’s Day!

Today I’m sharing a card that was inspired/CASEd by Jo Dumbleton.  I have said this before and I will say it again, I am going to miss The Open Sea stamp set.  It sure makes for an easy masculine card that comes together very quickly.  This card uses many items that are on the retired list and my all-time favorite accessory (Antique Brads) will be sorely missed.

Hello there and welcome back for the Stamp It Group’s blog hop ~ Mother’s Day!

Today I’m sharing my simple mother’s day card, inspired by Dawn Olchefske!  For the front over, I used the Oval Collection Framelits.  I created the window by using the 3rd and 4th smallest framelits.  This card can be used for any occasion just by changing the greeting on the banner, I love when that happens!

Happy Easter – Team Stamp It Blog Hop

header

Hello there and welcome back for the Stamp It Group’s blog hop ~ Easter!

Today I’m sharing my Punch Art Bunny Butt card!  I knew I would be making a bunny butt card as soon as I saw the Honeycomb Embellishments.  It sure makes for the perfect fluffy tail, don’t you think?  While the bunny is created using several Circle Punches and the Large Oval Punch, she is pretty easy to figure out.  I am including instructions on how I made the flowers though.

Here are some close up photos of today’s card creation!

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE FLOWERS

Cut two pieces of floral wire (about 3-1/2″ long) and one more (about 3″ long) . These wires are used as “hollyhock” stems and one will be used as a “sunflower” stem.  I found that 18-gauge green floral wire works well.  Punch ten flowers from Rose Red Cardstock using the flower punch from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack. Punch ten hearts from Old Olive Cardstock using the heart punch from Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

To make hollyhocks, curl the round edges of the hearts around something small in diameter, I used a wooden skewer.  Attach a Mini Glue Dot to the front of each heart, then pinch around the floral wire so the rounded edges curl back. Rotate the wire so the leaves are facing different directions. Attach five leaves each on two wires.  If desired, use a Pearl Basic Jewel in the center of each flower.

Attach five of the four petal flowers to each of the two stems using Mini Glue Dots. (Position the flowers so they cover up the floral wire.) Bend the petals upward to give the flowers dimension.

To create sunflowers, punch two flowers from So Saffron Cardstock using the Petite Petals Punch.  Wet all three flowers using a fine mist from a spray bottle. Lay each flower on the Stampin’ Pierce Mat, then press down in the center of each flower with the handle of the Paper-Piercing Tool. This will create dimension by causing the flowers to curl up.  If desired, use a Rhinestone Basic Jewel or Silver Mini Brad in the center of each flower.  Attach a Mini Glue Dot to the back of each flower, then press onto the floral wire.

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will continue the rest of the way around our hop!

XOXO – Team Stamp It Blog Hop

Hello there and welcome back for the Stamp It Group’s blog hop ~ Valentine’s Day!  You should have arrived here from the wonderful Siara Acdal’s blog.  If not and I’m your first stop- no worries! Simply use the back/next buttons at the bottom of this post to navigate your way around the hop.

If you have been following me for a while, you will recall that I love making cards with special folds.  So today, I am sharing the Shadow Box Card!  I must admit…I absolutely LOVE my card!  It came out exactly like I thought it would! So…what do you think of my little Love Blossoms Shadow Box Card?

009

010

Time for some close ups…did you know that the enamel glitter dots (small size) will fit perfectly in the Candy Dot Brad Bases?  How fun is that!

CARDSTOCK CUTS FOR THIS PROJECT:

  • Cut one Blushing Bride and one Whisper White Cardstock sheet to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, score both at 1/2″, 1″, 4-1/2″, and 5″
  • Cut a strip of DSP to 1/2″ x 5-1/2″

It can be decorated anyway you choose with the window on the top layer.  I ran mine through the Big Shot and Happy Heart TIEF.  To finish building the card, add Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape on the end tabs and place both pieces together.  Viola…the folds will make a shadowbox look!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will continue the rest of the way around our hop! Up next is Lori Mueller! I know she has something great in store for you all today!
