Congratulations Grad!

Hey friends, and happy Hump Day!  I wanted to share with you a super easy gift card holder that I made recently.

CARDSTOCK CUTS & INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS PROJECT:

  • cardstock (base): 7- 3/4″ x 5″ and score at 2-1/2″ and 6″
  • cardstock (inside stamped piece): 2-1/4″ x 4-3/4″
  • cardstock (belly band): 1″ x 7-3/4″
  • Glimmer Paper (top): 2- 1/4″ x 4-3/4″
  • Glimmer Paper (bottom): 1-1/2″ x 4-3/4″

Big Shot, Cards, Graduation, Photopolymer, Punch Art

2017 Graduate!

Welcome back to a new week, friends, I hope your weekend was grand!  With graduations upon us now, I wanted to share with you a fun graduation hat punch art card that I made recently for my daughters BF.

Here is a close up of the punch art graduation hat!  The mortar board (top) is made with a piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring 1″ x 2″ and creating a diamond shape by making a mark at 1/2″ on the 1″ side and 1″ on the 2″ side.  Then take a ruler and connect the marks to create a diamond shape.  For the base, use a piece of Basic Black cardstock measuring 1″ x 1″ and making the center of one edge.  Then use the 3/4″ Circle Punch and line up the circle by centering the corner and the center mark.  Adhere with a Stampin’ Dimensional.

Here is a close up the tassel that I made with some Basic Black Baker’s Twine.

CARDSTOCK CUTS FOR THIS PROJECT:

  • Rich Razzleberry: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″
  • Basic Black: 1″ x 2″, 1″ x 1″, 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Whisper White: 4″ x 5-1/4″ and 3-3/4″x 5″
  • Gold Glimmer: scrap

Here are the measurements and a quick instruction:

  • cardstock (base): 7- 3/4″ x 5″ and score at 2-1/2″ and 6″
  • cardstock (inside stamped piece): 2-1/4″ x 4-3/4″
  • cardstock (belly band): 1″ x 7-3/4″
  • DSP (top): 2- 1/4″ x 4-3/4″
  • DSP (bottom): 1-1/2″ x 4-3/4″

Just adhere the sides of the small flap with Tear & Tape (placed on the very edge) so it will hold money or a gift card.  Wrap the belly band around the holder and adhere closed with a piece (or two) of Tear & Tape.  I used various sizes of the Layering Squares Framelits Dies to hide the end pieces.  It comes together in a matter of minutes.  Enjoy!

In case you are wondering where the graduation hat came from, I used the March 2016 Pocketful of Cheer Paper Pumpkin kit.  I love receiving the kits monthly and continue to use the stamps in other projects that arrive.  It is like a gift that keeps on giving!  Why not sign up for your own monthly subscription?  Click here to find out more or to sign up.
