Birthday, Cards, Paper Pumpkin

Happy 18th Birthday!!

Today is our daughter’s 18th birthday! I remember the day that I gave birth and from that moment on, she stole our heart! She has become a remarkable young lady and we couldn’t be any prouder!

Since I will be at work most of the day, I prepared some little surprises that will last all day! Thank you Paper Pumpkin, as I felt a little crunched for time to create her a special birthday card. I used the March 2019 – Poppin’ Birthday kit.

Pedal Praise

A dear friend of mine is cycling to raise funds for cancer research again this year.  She has asked me to make some thank you cards so that she can send to those that supported her ride.  The charity is Padres Pedal the Cause and takes place on November 11-12 in San Diego.  I used the Pedal Praise Paper Pumpkin kit that was offered in August 2013.  I think these cards turned out great!

April’s Paper Pumpkin: A Sara Thing

Happy Hump Day, only a few more days until the weekend!  Today’s share is a little bitter sweet and I apologize in advance!  I want to share with you the A Sara’s Thing – April’s Paper Pumpkin kit! Unfortunately, all of the refills are now sold out (this was one of our fastest selling refills ever!)  I received my kit mid-April and right away I knew I wanted to purchase a refill, as soon as I saw that they were available, I ordered one and within 12 hours (at least that is what it felt like) they were all gone.

Paper Pumpkin is a fully designed project kit that arrives at your door each month with stamps, ink, and paper—everything cut and ready to go, so you can skip to the fun. Each month the kits are fun projects like cards, gift packaging, home décor, and more for just $19.95 USD a month (shipping included).  If you would like to leave more or sign up to receive a Paper Pumpkin subscription just click here.

The refill kit included everything but the stamp set and cost $9.  The kit makes 12 cards…talk about a great value!

Here is one of the cards (you get four of the hearts to watercolor).  I love the glitter acrylic flowers and the front of the envelopes too!

I added some of the washi tape to the bottom edge of the inside panel.

Here is another card in the kit, you got four of these to watercolor too.

The last cards to watercolor are just water color paper, no emboss resist.  I made one for Father’s Day and the others for an all occasion!

Trick or Treat Double Z-Fold Card

OMG!!  Is this card too freakin’ awesome or what!?!?  I have seen these Double Z-Fold Cards for the last few months and have never made one.  They are relative simple to make, I have noted the cardstock measurements that I used on my card (noted below) and while it was easy to assemble, just a little time consuming to stamp, punch, and die-cut the various pieces.  Due to the layers and dimensonals that I used, it will not lay flat (note my fingers in the picture below to hold it closed)!  I am beyond thrilled with how this turned out and I will be making more of these special folded cards in the future.

I used the September Paper Pumpkin (Something Good to Eat) stamp set for the pumpkins.  For the moon, I used the 2″ Circle Punch and sponged it with Daffodil Delight and Cajun Craze Classic Ink.  I also sponged the mummy with Crumb Cake Classic Ink.  I used various markers for the treat bags and Dracula; Brights (Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry, Real Red) Regals (Crushed Curry) and Neutrals (Smoky Slate).

Big Shot, Cards, Gift Card Holder, Graduation, Paper Pumpkin, Photopolymer

Congratulations, Grad!

With graduations upon us now, I wanted to share with you a super easy gift card holder that I made for my nephew Jake!  I also made one last year for my daughter’s BFF’s sister, click here.

Here are the measurements and a quick instruction:

  • cardstock (base): 7- 3/4″ x 5″ and score at 2-1/2″ and 6″
  • cardstock (inside stamped piece): 2-1/4″ x 4-3/4″
  • cardstock (belly band): 1″ x 7-3/4″
  • DSP (top): 2- 1/4″ x 4-3/4″
  • DSP (bottom): 1-1/2″ x 4-3/4″

Just adhere the sides of the small flap with Tear & Tape (placed on the very edge) so it will hold money or a gift card.  Wrap the belly band around the holder and adhere closed with a piece (or two) of Tear & Tape.  I used various sizes of the Layering Squares Framelits Dies to hide the end pieces.  It comes together in a matter of minutes.  Enjoy!

In case you are wondering where the graduation hat came from, I used the March 2016 Pocketful of Cheer Paper Pumpkin kit.  I love receiving the kits monthly and continue to use the stamps in other projects that arrive.  It is like a gift that keeps on giving!  Why not sign up for your own monthly subscription?  Click here to find out more or to sign up.

If you have been following me for a while, you will recall that I love making cards with special folds.  So today, I am sharing the Shadow Box Card!  I must admit…I absolutely LOVE my card!  It came out exactly like I thought it would! So…what do you think of my little Love Blossoms Shadow Box Card?

Time for some close ups…did you know that the enamel glitter dots (small size) will fit perfectly in the Candy Dot Brad Bases?  How fun is that!

CARDSTOCK CUTS FOR THIS PROJECT:

  • Cut one Blushing Bride and one Whisper White Cardstock sheet to 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″, score both at 1/2″, 1″, 4-1/2″, and 5″
  • Cut a strip of DSP to 1/2″ x 5-1/2″

It can be decorated anyway you choose with the window on the top layer.  I ran mine through the Big Shot and Happy Heart TIEF.  To finish building the card, add Fast Fuse or Tear & Tape on the end tabs and place both pieces together.  Viola…the folds will make a shadowbox look!

Thanks for stopping by! I hope you will continue the rest of the way around our hop! Up next is Lori Mueller! I know she has something great in store for you all today!
